Broot - Dialogues from Within takes Portuguese natural stone to Fuorisalone

From April 7 to 13, the "Dialogues" Collection continues its journey to present the Broot project in Edhèn Milano, via Borgonuovo 5, Brera Design District. Composed of unique design pieces, the project encourages dialogue between materials and people.

From Saudi Arabia to Paris to Milan, Broot - Dialogues from Within continues its journey aiming to enhance traditional materials and their origins, with Portuguese natural stone as the central element. More than a project promoting a dialogue between different materials, it is the latest project led by ASSIMAGRA, Portuguese Association of the Mineral Resources Industry.

From April 7 to 13, in Edhèn Milano, via Borgonuovo 5, in Brera Design District, the stone is transformed to gain a new life through art: named “Dialogues”, the first edition of Broot Collection is curated and produced by OLIVAH and arises/emerges from the dialogue between designers, artists and architects. The project was devised to encourage dialogue. Between materials from diverse sources and represented by different sectors of the Portuguese industry. Between people who trust the wisdom of nature and value the sharing of experiences, allying innovation with creativity and culture.

Although it consists of 25 pieces from individual collections made of traditional materials and following contemporary artistic visions, only five will be present at Milano Design Week: Schist & Acacia by Studio Anansi, Granite & Burel by Studio Olivah, Limestone & Clay by Vítor Reis Cerâmica, Marble & Cork by JMM Design Studio, and Basalt & Wicker by Estúdio Eneida Lombe Tavares.

Promoted and coordinated by ASSIMAGRA, with Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) financing in the context of the Sustainable Stone by Portugal Green Agenda, Broot is a project aimed at enhancing the strong heritage of Portuguese natural stone and boost the industry of the country, through a collection of original design pieces.

Created to diversify the export potential of this sector and project the national industry, Broot stands out for its experimental approach. Essentially, it functions as a laboratory of innovation and creativity that fosters new partnerships and collections of original and refined design pieces.

More than amplifying the recognition of the quality of national stone, from Portugal to the World, the "Dialogues" Collection invites the discovery of Portugal's stories and traditions through unique pieces that, after this event, will continue to be present at international exhibitions such as NYCxDesign, and Expo Osaka.
