Today, bathroom interior design is increasingly demanding: washbasin is one of the basic elements of the project.
RAK-Variant, designed by Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri, is a complete collection of basins with an essential shape, which gives architects and interior designers a complete and modular tool to satisfy all design needs. The collection offers in fact 25 different combinations. The washbasins, all 5 mm thick, can be selected in four different shapes: round, oval, rectangular and square. The same model is also available for different installations: built-in, freestanding, under-counter, with and without a top for taps. The designer can choose the same model for different needs and makes RAK-Variant a perfect basin for any environment (home, hospitality or public spaces).
RAK Ceramics produces the washbasins of the RAK-Variant collection in the United Arab Emirates, with the traditional “casting” technique. With this process, the washbasins are finished by hand, thus improving the quality of the final product. Rak-Variant has been presented for the first time at the ISH, international bathroom fair, in Frankfurt.
In 2010, the designers Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri founded their studio, working in different areas of design, including objects and spaces. The experimentation and the relationships between industrial and handcrafted production are the basis of their thinking big, giving objects a great consideration. Their works received international awards and appeared in several publications around the world. Besides being professionals, they hold lectures at various institutions including IUAV-Venice and Milan Polytechnic. Rak-Variant is their first exclusive collaboration with RAK Ceramics.
