Scavolini attended the 2016 edition of Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, which took place between 26th and 30th September in Bologna's trade fair district. This is a huge novelty for the industry, which for the first time sees the Company attending the event with its own 300 square-metre booth (Hall 29 – Booth C1-D4), where Scavolini will not only be showcasing all the new Scavolini Bathrooms products but also the latest solutions for the Living Room and Kitchen.
A major focus on design and styling, without forgetting about maximum functionality and painstaking care for details, staple elements in any Scavolini model and efficiently represented in the new Laundry Space project, which indeed is the result of Scavolini's desire to offer the public the chance to furnish their bathroom in an organised and functional manner, redesigning the typical elements found in a laundry room and incorporating them perfectly into the modularity of the company's collections.
In terms of finishes, Scavolini has supplemented its catalogue of more than 150 solutions with several new finishes, including leather for doors, porcelain stoneware and fine marbles for worktops and the innovative Fenix, used for both doors and tops. All these solutions incorporate ultimate quality Made in Italy, as well as an extensive range of materials Scavolini offers, including decorative melamine, laminate, gloss and matt lacquered, Quartz, porcelain stoneware, glass, Cristalplant and Mineral-marble, designed to meet functional, styling and emotional requirements concurrently
One of Scavolini's latest new models is called Ki, designed by Nendo, the Japanese studio run by Oki Sato. This model, devised for both the kitchen and the bathroom, boasts a concept which revolves around the “concealment” of the environment in two elements to create space and offer complete freedom in design: a container, a unique item with a decisive connotation, encapsulating an expressive code that can be repeated ad infinitum, and a wooden shelf that epitomises simplicity (Ki, in fact, means container and wood in Japanese). It rigorously evokes a minimalistic and extremely contemporary taste and embodies exclusive values, creative thinking, innovative challenges, on-going research, genuine Italian quality and painstaking care for details.
In the Ki bathroom collection, the container is selected both as an alternative to the wall units and to lay out the washbasin, available in sit-on, built-in and free-standing variants. A major novelty is the tap set that is cleverly "concealed" within the shelf, so the water appears to be pouring straight out of the shelf itself, for maximum clean-cut styling. The mirrors, which are simple sheets resting on the tops, shelves or walls, conceal a practical LED lighting system.
The lights – in the suspension or wall versions – are a further furnishing element: they’ve been designed specifically for this collection, as have the free-standing towel rails, which can also hold one of the containers. An exclusive range of decorative melamines was specifically created for this new model, all soft to the touch, including two wood-effect shades, perfectly harmonising the knowledge of craftsmen and the most modern technology.
Diesel Open Workshop is the new collection that spans both kitchen and bathroom, continuing the development of a style in which design meets informality, with impeccable balance.
For the first time, the partnership between Scavolini and Diesel also extends to the bathroom, with a charming and original proposal. In this project, a warm approach to the domestic environment is clear, with a strong industrial vibe. The spaces are interpreted as a place of intimacy, personality and, at the same time, sociability. At the centre, remarkable attention to style, right down to the detailing, the materials and the textures, to create simple geometry but with attractive designs, beloved by an audience that seeks "apparent" simplicity of form.
In the bathroom solution, the Industrial style is represented by significant use of metal, which is also found in the new modular "shelving" system - which allows the insertion of shelves, open-fronted compartments, wall and base units of different sizes, floor-standing or wall-mounted.
New exclusive design built-in and sit-on washbasins are available in different finishes and materials: rectangular built-in washbasins in Hi-Macs in two sizes and finishes, round sit-on washbasins in Nero Marquinia marble and white Mineral-marble.
The project showcases new custom-designed taps and iron supports with covers for base units, low tall units, consoles and bathtubs. A combination of furnishings and solutions which, diverse in composition, come together to create perfect stylistic balance.
Another distinctive feature is the open-fronted bath structure with metal legs and cover and matt lacquered shelf. As for the kitchen, new handle grips have been developed, fitted on the top of the door. New mirror models complete the bathroom range, key customisation elements which highlight the uniqueness of the collection.
The Diesel Open Workshop collection is available in three different configurations that combine materials and nuances - for doors, tops, profiles and glazing - and represent the three souls of the project, better to showcase the various facets of this model with a strong character.
