Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica: a hotbed of creativity and innovation
Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica will return to Milano Design Week 2024 to impress and captivate visitors with its unique narrative universe, challenging traditional and conventional rules in a bold, original and unconventional way.
At the Brera Site, a variety of surfaces will be on display, arranged in a series of continuous spaces where ceramics is the preferred material for experimenting with a diverse aesthetic, open to all kinds of creative ideas.
The Melt collection is showcased in the Red Room, which offers a fully immersive experience where the smoothness of ceramics blends seamlessly into the vertical surfaces. In the adjacent room visitors will find the Vynil collection, featuring bright lacquered surfaces, which is on display in the Silver Tunnel that creates an upside-down effect. These two set-ups are designed to engage visitors in a truly immersive experience. The tour continues in a third area that displays all the materials from the catalogue in various concrete colours: Aged Concrete, Hoily Marble and Welding Rivets, which together create a brutalist architectural style.
The result is a signature look that gives Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica a recognisable stylistic identity, where marble, metal, concrete, PVC and fabric are reinterpreted to create aesthetically appealing, enigmatic and charming ceramic surfaces.
MELT
Melt is a metaphor for matter, which is transformed, changes state and becomes something entirely different. The process of turning solid into liquid creates light, seemingly motionless waves that move along and then disappear. It is pure energy in motion, which creates a dynamic sculptural surface that changes depending on where you look at it. Light shines through in a mesmerising interplay of fluctuations, and thanks to its glossy finish, a saturated red colour grows in intensity. Melt takes the project to a whole new level through the use of colour, which becomes a highly distinctive element that instantly stirs up emotions and feelings.
VYNIL
It reveals hidden details and lets your eyes wander over the shapes that appear, allowing you to unleash your imagination and creativity. As if constantly transforming itself, this material combines dynamic and static effects with visual and tactile sensations to create an appealing and mysterious interplay of flexible shapes and bright, lacquered shades. Vibrant and eccentric colours give spaces a bold look and a sensuous appeal, for unique interiors with a striking visual impact.
AGED CONCRETE
With its rough and unpretentious look, Aged Concrete pays tribute to exposed raw concrete, known as beton brut. A new light shines on its surface and imbues it with glamorous, warm and familiar touches, changing its perception. The shades resulting from oxidation and the spatula effect become velvety smooth, in contrast with the cool hues of concrete, and set new standards of style in the fields of architecture and interior design. The neutral grey and sand colours are more vibrant than ever in order to capture the minimalist style of urban living spaces.
HOILY MARBLE
Hoily Marble, a play on words that combines the sacred and the profane, reflects the provocative nature of the Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica brand. A rough material such as asphalt comes into contact with oil and is exalted and transformed into a surface reminiscent of marble, recognisable yet not exactly the same. The texture of compact natural stone serves as a backdrop for unexpected opalescence, sinuous arabesques, and more or less marked veins running across the surface: by drawing inspiration from and revisiting a classic element, a dynamic new element is born, which pushes the boundaries of the ordinary. Mysterious and intense, Hoily Marble comes in four neutral colours as well as an iridescent hue that mixes pink, purplish and light blue nuances.
WELDING RIVETS
Cuts and cracks show glimpses of past lives, the marks of time and signs of wear. The surface is given new life along the cracking, and irregular veins of unique artisanal beauty appear where the parts are welded together. Welding Rivets incorporates industrial elements and emphasises them with retro details, experimenting with materials and mixing styles together: the result is an aesthetic concept that can be applied to contemporary interior design projects. White, Grey and Steel are the main colours of the backgrounds, with different coloured lines (ochre, anthracite and pitch) running through them, creating an atmosphere of unconventional luxury.
