During the Milan Design Week, Spazio CEDIT - Ceramiche d'Italia, a showroom of the ceramic brand with the same name of the Florim Group, hosted and previewed the two new collections signed by Formafantasma and Martino Gamper's designers. This two names increase the series of partnerships with some of the most interesting “authors” in the Italian design scene started by the company in 2016.
The one developed by the Formafantasma Studio for CEDIT is a 360° color’s exploration that turns into a collection with trendy and fanciful features.
"Cromatica", the new design proposal for interior architecture, investigates around the use of the color in the contemporary ceramic industrial production. The line consists of 6 colors in two surfaces (natural and polished) and several formats. Regarding the production, the slabs combine different technologies in order to get new nuances and shades inside each individual panel.
Every slab is conceived to be used both entire and cut in smaller sizes that once combined with each other - even randomly and mixing different colors - reveal the wealth of tones and allow the creation of original environments, starting from color therapy. For the development of the colors’ palette, the Italian duo based in Amsterdam, made up of Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, moved from a research that involved the brand’s archives too, inspired, among others, by a wide range of enamels designed for the company by Ettore Sottsass at the end of the twentieth century.
With the collection “Frammenti”, Martino Gamper proposes the maximum personalization of the environments by basing the ceramic series’ concept on the recovery and reassembly of existing materials to create new aesthetic and functional proposals.
“Frammenti” transforms the break into a non-destructive but creative symbol, destabilizing the reality to build a walls’ unusual reconstruction with a strong visual impact.
