From March 8 to 11, during the exhibition Made expo, 28 international architects coming from 13 countries will come one after another on the stage of ARCHMARATHON Selections@MADE expo 2017, at the Rho Fiera Milano, presenting architecture projects for 14 different categories. The winners, one for each category, selected by a jury chaired by the architect and professor Luca Molinari, will access directly to the shortlist of the 42 finalists of ARCHMARATHON AWARDS 2018 and will be awarded Saturday, March 11 at the end of the presentations.
Three Italians are among the first selected for the international prize of architecture: 5+1AA studio with the new headquarter BNL-BNP Paribas Group in the category Workspaces, Vudafieri Saverino Partners with the renovation of a mountains house in the category Retrofitting & Refurbishment, and Metrogramma Milano with the new commercial hub Scalo Milano City Style in the category Commercial Retail.
The monument Bologna Holocaust Memorial SET Architects and Parish Church in Pueblo Serena by Moneo Brock located in Monterrey, Mexico, are the first two finalists for the category Religious Buildings.
Moreover, the candidates of the categories Arts & Culture and Private Housing - interior design have been reveled: Guillermo Vasquez Consuegra with the project Caixa Forum, DGT Architects with the Estonian National Museum, Edge Design with the 15 sqm apartment and Archiplanstudio with Appartamento RJ in Mantua.
Furthermore, for the categories Bars & Restaurants and Landscape Design & Open Space there will be La Mantia’s Restaurant by Lissoni Associati, Mohammad Kebab restaurant in Esfahan (Iran) by Lpoffice, the Re-opening the historic center of Rio de Janeiro by B+ABR and the Recuperación del caminito del Rey di Luis Machuca & Asociados; for the categories Education Buildings and Private Housing (Architecture), the Memorial and learning centre Utoya by Blakstad Haffner studio, the Elementary school Sant'Andrea by Modus Design, La casa de los vientos by José Luis Muñoz, and the OE House by Fake Industry Architectural Agonism.
