Casa del Manzoni becomes Palazzo delle Meraviglie

From 16 to 21 April 2024 on the during Milan Design Week, the design collective will enhance the ground floor area of the museum house of Alessandro Manzoni, one of the greatest Italian novelists of all time (1785-1873).

The fifth edition of Palazzo delle Meraviglie, the Wunderkammer curated by designer Katrin Herden with architect Alessandro Zarinelli of Studio MH, will open on 16th of April in one of Milan's most fascinating historical buildings, museum-home of the famous Italian writer Alessandro Manzoni (1813 to 1873). Part of the Fuori Salone, within the Montenapoleone District calendar, the collective group show represents a unique opportunity to come into contact with encounter international companies united by a special harmony with design ranging from furniture to textiles.

Manzoni's House (Casa Manzoni) overlooks one of Milan's most elegant squares, Piazza Belgioioso, which has retained the charm of Milan's most affluent and intellectual. Behind the decorative neo-Renaissance façade, the interiors have been preserved in the style of the mid-19th century, atmospheres that visitors find preserved on the upper floors where the museum opens the rooms dedicated to the Lombard writer known to the world for his novel The Betrothed, a masterpiece of Italian literature.

Palazzo delle Meraviglie will be housed on the ground floor, around the courtyard, in an exciting journey to discover the latest in international design such as:

  • Softhouse by Mariella and Laura Torri, a made-in-Italy brand that has succeeded in combining the creativity of fashion with the rigor of the most refined Italian design,
  • Mamagreen brand made in the USA by Belgian designer and entrepreneur Vincent Cantaer, which designs luxury outdoor furniture collections,
  • Pinton, a historic artisan company specializing in with a strong propensity for tailor-made products.

Historical protagonists of the Milanese Wunderkammer are the Portuguese brands Hommés Studio and Tapis Studio by designer Micael Carvalho, a multidisciplinary artist who finds in interior design the maximum manifestation of his passion for the history of art and the visual arts, from photography and painting to digital design, and Sohil by Katrin Herden, who takes the opportunity to launch her latest cushion proposals designed thanks to her sophisticated creativity.

In an extraordinary setting for the Fuori Salone, Palazzo delle Meraviglie at Casa del Manzoni, located in Milan's fashion and luxury district, close to Via Monte Napoleone, will welcome its visitors with the collective group exhibition of selected companies with an artistic and artisanal approach to design and high-end products. Also at this edition, it will be possible to experience the special synergy between the ambience of the House and the quality of the products on display, ranging from designer furniture to textiles.
