This time, the Italian ceramic production will be exhibited at the London Design Biennale “Utopia by Design”, on stage at Somerset House from September 7 to 27, during the London Design Festival of the British capital.
Ceramica Francesco De Maio, in Nocera Superiore (Salerno), is in fact technical partner of the installation White Flag promoted by the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and designed by Silvana Annicchiarico and Giorgio Camuffo in collaboration with twenty young designers and architects, aimed at the representation of Italy during this international event.
The floor of the installation is characterized by the tiles of the Made in Italy brand, glossy white and brushed glossy black 10x10 format.
The designers reinterpreted the symbolic white flag as a utopian symbol of global rest. The flags were firstly placed on the world map in the center of the installation, but every day one flag will be removed and replaced by an object chosen or created by the designer. All this is to create a sense of urgency and emergency for the selected places marked on the map.
