Cersaie 2015 will include an exhibition entitled Day Off, curated by the designer Diego Grandi and promoted by EdiCer and Bologna Fiere.
This wide-ranging cultural project involves several major names from Italian design, such as Cassina, Lea Ceramiche, Runtal and Zucchetti Kos.
Drawing inspiration from Le Corbusier, one of the foremost figures of 20th Century architecture, and the "cabanon de vacances" he built on France's Côte d'Azur, Day Off is a plan for a weekend hideaway, based on the principles of beauty and simplicity, which explores the relationship between man and nature.
Occupying an area of 250 sq.m, it is an alternating series of outdoor and indoor spaces, where the search for simplicity and conviviality generates an ideal backdrop for interaction between guests and the outdoor environment. Two intersecting volumes, one of which is transparent, form the centrepiece of the composition and create a continuous dialogue with the natural surroundings. An outdoor area divided into relaxation areas, with a swimming pool and kitchen space characterised by the constant presence of greenery, highlight the continual search for well-being. In line with the concept that underpins the exhibition, the products and materials supplied by each company selected by the designer point to an osmotic relationship between nature and design.
