After the renovation and expansion previewed at Cersaie 2016, FAB Fiandre Architectural Bureau Castellarano, the showroom of the ceramic group Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, opens its doors to the public by presenting in its spaces the exhibition “Alvaro Siza. Viagem sem programa”, again in Italy after being the protagonist of the thirteenth international exhibition of architecture - the Venice Biennale.
The exhibition project by Greta Ruffino and Raul Betti, which can be visited from June 9 to July 7, aims at analyzing the intimate side of the world famous Portuguese designer, linking the architect's profession with a personal existence’s idea.
The exposition, born from the several meetings that the two curators have had with Siza, tells and investigates - by exhibiting 53 works taken from his notebooks and personally selected by the same author - not only the aspects related to the profession, but above all his human being through a "journey without program" of memories, sensations, ironic notes and visions.
«The exhibition - the curators explain - by exploring human nature and design culture, aims at emphasizing the close bond between these two components, revealing through an emotional path the most intimate and private side of Álvaro Siza, which discloses himself in the deep and intense ability to observe and subsequently translate the fragments of reality into symbols».
The set-off, curated by Dumbo Design Studio, involves different areas of the gallery, welcoming the visitor when entering in FAB and tracing the path with large photographs printed on adhesive films; later, the exhibition goes on into an industrial space, revisited for the occasion, where the ceramic surfaces by Fiandre cover some furnishings, thus giving the exposition a precise style.
