The Green Good Design Award for the washbasin VEIL®

The ceramic washbasin VEIL® by Scarabeo won the prestigious GREEN GOOD DESIGN 2020 award, bestowed by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The twelfth edition of the GOOD DESIGN® Awards program awarded 100 products of design, graphics, architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning projects that highlight the most advanced "green approach" and the most sophisticated methods and technologies to achieve a more positive impact on the environment. GREEN GOOD DESIGN recognizes the most important examples and develops a powerful public awareness-raising program for sustainable design experts.

The iconic and innovative VEIL® is one of these products. Designed by Massimiliano Braconi for the bathroom furniture brand and characterized by a very thin thickness (just 8 mm), it is a challenge in ceramics. In particular, VEIL® is the result of a highly sustainable manufacturing process that uses the energy generated by photovoltaic systems and involves a total recycling of the water used in the processing of ceramics; the scarps are regenerated and used for subsequent processing too.

From July 1st until August, at the Museum of the European Center - Contemporary Space Athens (Mitropoleos 74, Athens, Greece), you can see the 100 green projects awarded at the GREEN GOOD DESIGN 2020 award, including the washbasin Scarabeo.
