The first 3D printed building used as an office makes its official entry on the scene of the Emirates. The project is part of the program “Dubai 3D Printing Strategy” announced by the Prime Minister Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, according to which a share of buildings, entirely 3D printed, of 25% of the total is expected by 2030. The aim is to promote the United Arab Emirates - Dubai especially - as the leader hub of this innovative technology. Specifically, it is estimated that the construction sector value will amount to 3 billion DH by 2025.
The office recently inaugurated, commissioned to WinSun Global company, is different from previous similar projects because it has been entirely realized with the 3D printing technology, both in the exterior and the interior, and for furniture too. With an area of 250 square meters, the structure was built in 17 days and it was necessary a printer 6 meters high and 36 long and materials such as SRC (Special Reinforced Concrete), FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) and GRG (Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum).
