Kora bathtub by Kreoo for an award-winning NYC Loft

DJDS, an American design studio led by Dorothee Junkin, has chosen the sculptural Kora bathtub by Kreoo for the master bathroom of its latest NYC Loft project. The contemporary design concept that turns towards material character and texture is a winner of the American Architecture Prize 2017 in the category "Interior Design – Apartments Interiors".

"In the master bathroom, a composition of book-matched white and black marble slabs creates a feature backdrop for a freestanding sculptural soaking tub carved from a solid block of marble. As in the primary spaces of the apartment, layered light finishes stand in deliberate juxtaposition to select dark feature elements that aide to imbue each space with the individuality it deserves" said Dorothee Junkin.

Kora by Kreoo, successfully presented at Salone del Mobile 2016, is an elegant ellipsoidal marble bathtub cut from one single solid block, carved with a meticulous and fine technique, achieved by digging the stone, firstly with specialized technology and then handcrafted for details and finishes.

The tub rests on an iron tripod that supports its volume, giving stability and elegance. Suspended from the floor, despite the strength of the material, marble is free from its weight and floats in the air.
