The garden “LG Eco-City”, created by LG Hausys and LG Electronics in collaboration with the landscape architect Hay Joung Hwang, has won the Silver Gilt Award at the Chelsea Flower Show.
The outdoor installation, which sensibly combines a simple layout with a modern and “relaxed” approach, has been designed for the most important floral exhibition in Great Britain, with the aim of presenting an anti-pollution area, where trees, plants and shrubs are carefully selected to be not only a mere frame but an integral part of the architecture.
The project “LG Eco-City” is designed for metropolitan environments too, where houses often have limited external spaces. For this reason, all the space is fully exploited.
In the living area, a wall rich in vegetation represents the green lung; the outdoor area consists of a sunken patio delimited by hedges and flowerbeds, connected to the kitchen by a short staircase made of stone, while a walkway leads towards the garden that is embellished with water features and a bright natural turf. Finally, on each corner of the hedge you can find the colored ones.
For what concerns the materials, the pavilion with the living area has been made with the acrylic stone HI-MACS® by LG Hausys, in the finishing Shadow Concrete of the new Collection Concrete, completed by majestic sliding doors made of Lightfoot Windows glass. In the garden, the television and the water features are also inserted in HI-MACS® shells (in the colors Shadow, Ebony and Steel Concrete), as well as the upholstered furniture in the living area that rest on secure solid surface structures.
Finally, the project includes the Boffi kitchen (equipped with LG built-in appliances) and the LG Signature OLED TV. The vinyl tiles of the living room by LG Hausys are equipped with the system Decoclick and can ensure the appearance of natural wood.
