Camilo Rebelo is the first guest of the cultural program of Cersaie 2018 “building living thinking”, in Bologna from September 24 to 28. The Portuguese architect will join the event in a conference scheduled for September 26 at the Galleria dell'Architettura of the exhibition center.
Camilo Rebelo was born in Porto in 1972; he graduated in Architecture at the "Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto" (FAUP) in 1996. From 1994 to 1999, he collaborated with Eduardo Souto Moura and Herzog & de Meuron. In 2000, he founded his own studio.
He won several awards: just think about the first prize at the international competition for the Museum of Art and Archeology of Vale do Côa (2004-2009), designed with Tiago Pimentel; later he received the 2013 Bauwelt Prize award. He received the Honorable mention in the international competition of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2007) and he has been recently awarded with the Baku UIA International Award for his Ktima House in Greece (2017), both projects were realized in collaboration with Susana Martins.
Camilo Rebelo lectured at the Faculdade de Arquitectura in Porto and as invited professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne with Eduardo Souto de Moura, at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura Universidad de Navarra, at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and, currently, at the Milan Polytechnic Institute.
