The Saie 2016 international building exhibition will be back in Bologna from 19 to 22 October with an edition devoted entirely to cities, infrastructure and land engineering.
This year is the turn of Saie Building Construction, which is held in even-numbered years in alternation with Saie Smart House, a new initiative that began in 2015 and is held in odd-numbered years.
The show is expected to attract a total of 90,000 industry professionals from all over the world (including building designers, manufacturers and retailers), who will have a chance to explore the widest range of technologies for building and construction sites, building materials and products, electronic equipment and automation systems, energy saving solutions and much more showcased by the 1,400 exhibiting companies. Theme sections include Saie Safe Building, devoted to technologies for improving seismic and hydrogeological safety, Saie Sustainable Building focusing on tools for energy efficiency and bioarchitecture, and Saie Innovative Design which will showcase hardware and software for building designers and architects. As usual, plenty of coverage will be given to sustainable innovation in the section Saie Innovation, which will offer professionals guidance on the most appropriate solutions to adopt in anticipation of the 2020 building market. A jury will select the most significant innovations presented by Saie exhibitors in the New Product Guide and exhibited in the Services Centre, to be followed by an award presentation in the presence of the Italian Minister for the Environment.
The theme of anti-seismic construction will also be explored in depth with the presentation of the latest techniques and technologies as well as materials such as steel and glass fibres for reinforcing existing buildings. The subject is of particular importance in the light of the new Guidelines issued in July by the Higher Council for Public Works and the recent tragic earthquake in Central Italy.
There will be a packed conference programme (500 conferences and seminars), along with training sessions consisting of courses and seminars held by leading representatives of the construction industry and international research and design centres.
