The Faenza International Ceramic Museum (MIC) is organising the “Superfici d’autore” exhibition to showcase the work of outstanding international designers in industrial ceramic, to coincide with the two major international ceramic trade fairs, Cersaie in Bologna and Tecnargilla in Rimini.
Open from 22 September to 9 October 2016, “Superfici d’autore” will be exhibiting works by four major Italian ceramic brands designed by leading international designers.
CEDIT - Ceramiche d’Italia, a member of the Florim Group, will be exhibiting works designed by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò, Marco Casamonti, Giorgio Griffa, Franco Guerzoni, Matteo Nunziati, Giorgia Zanellato & Daniele Bortotto.
Lea Ceramiche, the Panariagroup brand, will be showing collections designed by Diego Grandi and  Patrick Norguet. Mutina will be showing collections designed in collaboration with Barber&Osgerby, Ronan&Erwan, Bouroullec, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola and Tokujin Yoshioka. Ceramica Sant’Agostino will be celebrating its very special collaboration with Philippe Starck.

“When you hear the word “design” in the context of industrial ceramic, you immediately think of Italian manufacturers,” says Eugenio Emiliani, President of the MIC Foundation in Faenza. “Italy has always been committed to growing the quality of its output, and this has often resulted in collaborations with designers and artists. We are exhibiting some of these projects at Faenza to show the best of current Italian production, as well as indicating the vast potential of ceramic for modern architecture.”
