The finalists of this year’s Surface Design Awards, promoted by Surface Design Show fair in London (6-8 February 2018), have been announced unveiling some of the best international projects which feature in innovative ways materials and surfaces. The shortlist of impressive projects range from internationally renowned museums to personal residential projects. Included among the 2018 finalists are international practices including Foster + Partners, Heatherwick Studio, AL_A, The Manser Practice and Giles Miller Studio. In specific, the award aims to recognize and reward the best uses of contemporary materials into architecture realizations.
Co-chaired by Tina Norden of Conran and Partners and Ab Rogers of Ab Rogers Design, the panel of experts eventually selected 30 projects from 10 countries as their Finalists. Winners of each category will be announced along with the Supreme Award winner, the 'best of the best' surface, on February 8 for the 2018 Surface Design Awards presentation hosted by Mick Jordan.
