A triple recognition for VitrA at the Good Design Award 2020
On the 70th anniversary of the Good Design Award, three VitrA collections were awarded among more than 900 applications from 48 countries around the world.
With this triple recognition, VitrA – the Turkish brand of the Eczacibasi group specialized in the production of bathroom furniture and tiles – reached 40 Good Design Awards. It is one of the most prestigious international Design Awards promoted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design e The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The line of tiles CementMix won in the “building materials” category, while the bathroom furniture collections Voyage and Sento Kids were awarded in the “bathroom and accessories” category.
In particular, CementMix stood out for its ability to meet different aesthetic needs and to create inspiring surfaces, with a style lasting over time. Following the trend of cozy minimalism, CementMix softens the traditionally rough look of concrete with a variety of coordinated warm and earthy shades.
Voyage, for which VitrA's collaborated with the artist and designer Arik Levy, struck the jurors for the breadth and modularity of the range. Made up of more than 130 different elements, the collection offers a system that evolves and adapts to changing needs and desires. Adding and removing elements is simple, each unit can transform the existing space. By meeting different needs, this flexible design solution is a complete system for innovative and aesthetically satisfying results.
Finally, Sento Kids is a collection for children designed by VitrA Design Team. With its ergonomic proposals, it is characterized by refined and relaxing roundness, which conveys bathroom an essential sense of comfort.
