TUBES exhibiting at the 4th Venice Design Biennial

TUBES exhibiting at the 4th Venice Design Biennial, from 19 May to 18 June, in parallel to the first month of the Architecture Biennale.

Auto-exotic is the theme of the fourth edition of the Venice Design Biennial, a program of exhibitions and collateral projects that will rethink the traditional concept of exoticism through the lens of design.

“The distance (in space, in time) is no longer so fascinating, rather the difference (in proximity),” according to the curators Francesca Giubilei and Luca Berta. In recent years, the fascination of far-flung places has turned towards figures, practices and social spaces that inhabit the less striking ripples of the composite culture to which we belong, such as, for example, artisan knowledge.

In this context we can find Tubes, a company deeply rooted in the territory of its origins, which through the art of know-how, handed down from generation to generation, has created a unique case history in the area of radiators and towel heaters.

Although it was founded over 30 years ago, Tubes still manufactures exclusively in Resana (TV), thus making the most of its craftsmanship and human intervention in details as fundamental principles, while developing creativity to anticipate trends in the world of warmth.

It is thanks to these factors that products such as add-On and Milano Free-Standing by Tubes have been chosen to be exhibited at the Venice Design Biennial.

add-On, designed by Satyendra Pakhalé, which is on display at the SPUMA space in Giudecca, is a real object-sculpture whose design has exceeded every standard in terms of form to create a heating element reminiscent of a work of art. Today, this radiator is an icon recognized by designers and architects for the unique identity and compositional possibilities guaranteed by the modular concept. add-On can stylishly furnish a wall, like a three-dimensional panel, or it can be walled in, thus becoming a heating wall integrated into the interior structure.

At the Venice Design Biennial, in the 19th-century SPARC gallery, in the heart of the historic centre of Venice, Milano Free-Standing is also on display, the sculpture-radiator designed by Antonia Astori and Nicola De Ponti. Another Tubes project that was able to mark a revolution in the world of radiators, with the heating element detaching from the wall and becoming a space-scanning tool that inspires amazement.

With its products chosen to be part of Auto-exotic, Tubes joins the symbolic journey of the other objects on display and continues to add new perspectives to the history of heat and radiators every day.
