Chalet Joux Plane: a "James Bond" style location
In the heart of the French Alps, in a private and elevated position just a few minutes’ drive from the center of the well-known ski resort Morzine, you can find the striking and prestigious Chalet Joux Plane. Spread over 680 square meters, all living spaces and common areas overlook the adjacent mountains.
The chalet can accommodate up to 14 people in 5 luxurious bedrooms, plus a room with a bunk bed, suitable for families with children. All rooms have secluded terraces with freestanding tubs for ultimate relaxation.
The revisited Alpine tradition
The architecture and the interior design – respectively signed by the Marullaz Architectures studio and the Shep & Kyles team – favored a combination of styles and materials marked by the minimalist and contemporary reinterpretation of the Alpine tradition.
Structural rationality, visual possibilities and dialogue between interiors and exteriors stand out as distinctive features of this "film house”, resembling James Bond’s home in the film "Spectre". Moreover, with the high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows the chalet fits harmoniously the surrounding mountain landscape.
Interior design and materials
The interiors are characterized by several glass elements, used to mark the areas, and by wooden furniture with a Nordic style specifically conceived by the designers. The elegant finishes of PORCELANOSA Grupo collections complete the interiors.
The parquet Advance 1L Natural by L'Antic Colonial, installed on floor and walls of the entire the chalet, creates a seamless aesthetic effect and stresses the symmetry and brightness that feature the location, characterized by the intense shades of brown and gray.
Upstairs, there is the living room with two functional areas: the first one for reading with XXL sofas in dark colors, combined with solid wood beams; the second one is for the dining room. Downstairs, you can find the recreational area, consisting of a gym, a cinema room, an art gallery, a recreation room, a spa with Jacuzzi, hammam and an indoor swimming pool covered with the porcelain stoneware Stuc Grey Texture by XTONE®, based on the refined sandstone.
Especially for the spa area, the design team focused on a scheme of materials with oxidized textures combined with the metallic effect of Ferroker floor by Porcelanosa. These slabs are resistant to scratches, shocks and high temperatures and connect this area with the hammam.
The entrance is covered with the Globe stone collection by L'Antic Colonial, which enhances the sophisticated atmosphere of the space.
The metallic mosaic Imperia Mix Silver Blue Backs by L'Antic Colonial was used to cover the hammam, characterized by a concave shape. The small white, gray and blue tiles further accentuate the enveloping and intimate atmosphere of the environment, thanks also to the spotlights installed in the upper part.
Finally, the surface line Argenta Antracita by Porcelanosa and the porcelain stoneware XLIGHT® Nox Corten by Urbatek covered the bathrooms next to the spa. The finish Habana Dark by L'Antic Colonial was chosen for the washbasins, while the full-body porcelain stoneware slabs by Porcelanosa make up the general floor of the shower, alternated with the wall tiles Moka Anticato by L'Antic Colonial.
