The "Pret a vivre" by Clairoux

Every year, an average of 40,000 housing units are built in Quebec. This year the Association provinciale des constructeurs d’habitations du Québec (APCHQ) predicts that the province will see 43,500 new housing projects. Apartment and condo developments represent 69% of such projects—a significant hike compared to 50% in 2010. In 2020, this share is expected to reach 71%.

In response to this surge and to the major trend that is taking shape, the Montreal interior design firm Clairoux has developed a unique and innovative concept: Prêt à vivre. Targeting the buyers of new condos, this solution allows owners to move into an entirely furnished living space designed with trends, functionality and an active urban lifestyle top of mind. All without even lifting a finger.

Prêt à vivre is much more than a design service. In fact, nearly the customer's entire move is taken care of, allowing him to step into the condo ready for receiving guests from day 1.

Just as in the fashion industry, under the leadership of head designer Frédric Clairoux, the team of designers create biannual seasonal collections. These collections are well thought through, highly esthetic and adapted to the needs of active people. What’s more, they are tailored to the specifications and preferences of each buyer.

How it works:

  • Tell Clairoux about the condo, using a detailed questionnaire;
  • Design and budget approval: Clairoux team analyzes the information and shows a concept board featuring the styles and colours, along with the budget.
  • Delivery and installation: the team, made up of experts from different fields of work and craftsmen in decorating, orchestrates the entire project down to the smallest detail up until the big reveal.

Having taken part in the development more than 6,500 condo units, Clairoux stands as a reference in its field and boasts the most experience in urban housing among all interior design firms in Quebec. According to Frédric Clairoux, in terms of resale value, Prêt à vivre can make a tremendous difference as many people purchase condos for investment purposes (renting) and its service offer represents an asset for renting faster and at better prices.

All in all, Prêt à vivre introduces a change in habits for the buyers of new condos as it now stands as an integral step in the process of moving into a new home.
