The Florence Hills Luxury Resort, a luxurious modern-style complex located near Pelago, a few miles from Florence, is a large outdoor area designed for the relaxation around the pool. The used material helped in the achievement of the elegant outdoors’ aesthetic: the natural stone produced by the Tuscan company Pietre di Rapolano, which supplied all the exterior floors including those of the pool area and the bathrooms of the internal apartments.
For the flooring next to the striking open air water, the architect Nicola Visibelli, project curator, selected the version PDR027 Leather Brown*, in the beige tones, which highlights the structure of the stone.
The material, included in the range “Nuvolati” by Pietre di Rapolano, has been treated with the “Ciottolo” (Pebble) finish and cut in different sizes to perfectly fit the environment. Moreover, the pool edge was specifically tailored using the same colour selection, but with a greater thickness - 3 cm, than the normal 1.3 cm thick tiles of Pietra di Rapolano.
The stairs and the elements of the outer area, such as balustrades, were made with the same material. Travertine were carefully chosen for its weather resistance properties and the low slippage, even in moisture and wet conditions.
