Giulio Iacchetti designs “Labyrinth” for Ceramiche Refin

Ceramiche Refin's latest collection, due to be unveiled at Cersaie 2015, pays homage to the legendary images of classical antiquity. Like marks and tracks spawned by a mythological past, the patterns of Labyrinth, designed by DesignTaleStudio, will enjoy a starring role at the company's trade fair stand.

Giulio Iacchetti, the designer who happily took up the challenge assigned to DesignTaleStudio, explains: "For me, conceiving and designing a covering means reaching out and trying to touch the concept of infinity and three-dimensionality, by starting from a modular design that extends into space without limits."

It is precisely this sense of depth and self-loss that Labyrinth seeks to evoke, through an alternating pattern of zigzags, lines broken at different levels, linear threads and complex geometric patterns. The intrinsic idea of the collection enhances the expressive potential of the ceramic and confirms the company's commitment to the ongoing search for an iconography borrowed from history, expressed through innovative technology and translated on a time-by-time basis into contemporary patterns and designs.
