In the Pilkington Italia plant in Porto Marghera, Optiwhite ™, a glass that goes beyond the normal concept of transparency, has recently been introduced.
Compared to traditional clear float glass, in fact, it guarantees an excellent neutrality in transmission and a superb colour rendering, which allows to appreciate the colours of the objects behind the glass without any alteration. The colours remain bright and perfectly natural.
Pilkington Optiwhite™ is an extra clear glass, obtained from a rigorous selection of raw materials, high grade sand with a reduced iron oxide content, and through careful control of various parameters during the melting process, to provide the market with a product of excellent performance.
Optiwhite™ in thicknesses from 2 mm to 19 mm, NSG Group offers architects and designers the widest range of extra clear glass in the market. The glass can also be used as a substrate for a number of other functional glass products providing thermal insulation (Pilkington K Glass™ OW or Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 OW), solar control and low-e properties (Pilkington Suncool™ OW range), noise control (Pilkington Optiphon™ OW), safety and security (Pilkington Optilam™ OW).
