The unprecedented combination of comic and coverings, proposed and hosted by Wallpepper in Milan showroom, includes as its main protagonist the iconic character by Crepax, Valentina, as the subject of a distinctive and eclectic wallpaper.
The tribute event “Valentina beyond Crepax”, scheduled for 20 to 31 May 2016, aims at narrating the adventures of the heroine with the raven-black bob, by using design surfaces. The walls not only tell Valentina’s stories: frescoes with battles in the Far East and historic cities sketches complete the line and stress the intense work of Guido Crepax in different scenarios.
In between art and furnishings, the concept is part of the project Wallpepper® Fine-Art, thanks to which the brand is proposed as a new mean of authorial images spread, involving 22 international artists to rewrite the concept of wallpaper.
“By collaborating with Antonio, Caterina and Giacomo Crepax, we had unlimited access to Guido’s collection. An amazing and inestimable archive, which shows a keen observer of different artistic forms, customs and trends. It took a long time to review all the materials and select the first subjects for the reproduction on the wall. But it is just the beginning of this adventure, because we want to expand soon the section dedicated to Guido Crepax with new surprising graphics”, Diego Locatelli commented, the director and founder of Wallpepper®.
