Baker Street Station cleans up with Fila

Treatment systems by FILA Surface Care Solutions have been used to clean up one of the world's oldest and most famous underground stations - Baker Street in London - and to restore the non-slip properties of its flooring, in line with regulatory requirements for public places.

Baker Street Station opened in 1863, when the London underground first came into service, and has been in operation ever since. Located in the Marylebone district of central London, it is served by five lines and sees annual throughput of 1.3 billion passengers.

Because of the high volume of passenger traffic, the station's floor and wall coverings are inevitably subject to dirt and stains from footfall, which had impaired their appearance.

So the marble grit tiles of the station's flooring and the ceramic tiles of the platform edges underwent deep cleaning with FILAPS87, the ideal detergent for removing grease and stains from heavily soiled surfaces.

The ceramic wall tiles, meanwhile, were cleaned with FILACLEANER, the concentrated neutral detergent that removes dirt without adversely affecting surface finish.
