The Bigmat International Architecture Award 2017 is about to start

The enrollments to the 2017 edition of the Bigmat International Architecture Award will officially open on January 16th. The competition aims at rewarding any kind of project useful for the development of the architectural culture of the country in which they were made and completed between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2017.

Conceived for professionals from Italy, Belgium, France, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Spain (the seven European countries where the brand is present), besides the traditional national awards there will be six new categories of awards: Sustainability and innovative use of material, Architecture, City and landscape, Renovation, Ephemeral Architecture, Interior architecture.

Among the projects selected in the first phase (15 for each country), the jury, chaired by Jesús Aparicio, will identify a second shortlist of finalists, in order to bestow a total of 13 awards for different categories: six Awards for the categories BigMat '17 (value: € 1,500 each), six National Awards (value: € 5,000 each) and one International Grand Prize (value: 30,000 euro).

7 winners for the National Awards BigMat ‘17 will be chosen to compete for the International Grand Prize, whose announcement will be made during the Group's annual conference (November 24, 2017 in Florence).

Also this year, there will be the Special Mention Young Architects BigMat ‘17, dedicated to under 40 architects.
