The countdown has started to the 8th edition of the Cristalplant® Design Contest, organised by Cristalplant, the Treviso-based solid surface specialists.
The competition is divided into two categories, Young and Senior, both tasked with designing high-performance, eco-sustainable extractor hoods made of Cristalplant®.
The initiative is partnered by Elica, an Italian company which has been in the extractor hood business since the 1970s and has always given high priority to innovative design and painstaking styling, from which the candidates are expected to draw inspiration for their new creations.
The deadline for entries is 29 February 2016. All projects received by that date will be assessed by a jury of high-profile figures from the world of design and furnishing, and the awards ceremony will be held during the 55th Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, as part of the Fuorisalone fringe calendar. The winner will earn the right to produce his or her product in partnership with the Elica design centre, and this may then go into production, at the company's discretion, by the end of 2018.
