The “Nomadic Design” will be the subject of the next Fuorisalone (April 4-9, 2017) at Milan BASE, the new project for culture and creativity that involved the reuse of the former Ansaldo as a place of multi-sectoral experimentation. The aim is the understanding of the impact that current technologies, remotely work, co-working and frequent traveling have on industrial design and, therefore, how shapes, interfaces, materials and usages change.
One year after its opening, the exhibition center investigates the new scenarios of the nomadic lifestyle: hybrid and flexible spaces including those of living, leisure, business, home, office, workshop, lounge and home-cinema, accompanied by equally nomadic objects, analog and digital combinations, interconnected, and always portable.
The subject will be plumbed with a flagship project, thematic exhibitions, presentations of prototypes and previews in co-production with Nomadic Design relevant companies, a talk show, seminars, workshops and partnership performances with research organizations and companies.
Besides the Nomadic Design, also this year the Milan BASE will function as a Design Center, the reference point of the Tortona Design Week, which in the 2016 edition included 150,000 visitors and 20 exhibitors’ countries.
