The harbor is the protagonist of Cer-Sail - Italian Style Concept, the 3rd event of the collective exhibition of Cersaie 2016, the International exhibition of ceramic for architecture and bathroom furnishings. Also this year, the two curators Angelo Dall'Aglio and Davide Vercelli have identified a current design subject, interesting from an economic point of view for the companies that will be involved: the promotion of Italian port areas.
A forward-looking consideration underlies the subject choice: with its 8,000 km of coastline, Italy has all the potential to become the largest and most organized natural hub of the Mediterranean, therefore, the Council of Ministers in 2014 approved the National strategic plan for Harbors and Logistics (Piano strategico nazionale della Portualità e della Logistica, PSNPL), with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the Italian port system.
In order to present new concepts for the requalification and promotion of the Italian marinas, the Cer-Sail - Italian Style Concept is inspired by the classical ports, such as those of Anzio or Carthage, gathering places of commercial and cultural exchange.
“We reconstructed a kind of marine agora” - Angelo Dall'Aglio says – “a square with a lighthouse in the middle: a real and metaphorical landmark for the creation of new common spaces for meetings and exchanges, be them cultural or commercial, taking of course into account also the restaurants”.
“We have thought about wellness areas too, as a healthy and evocative place such as the port undoubtedly stimulates physical activity. The emotional aspect of the exhibition will be completed by a giant poster (200sq.m.) of a sunset over the sea, with a moving ship on the horizon”, added Davide Vercelli.
In the harbor imagined by Cer-Sail - Italian Style Concept, in a creative exchange of design and technology, you can find the meeting of many Italian products and companies coming from different sectors: from fashion to ceramics, from furniture to surfaces, from sports equipment to bathroom furniture, up to food, cosmetics, textiles.
The list of the involved companies includes: Aquaelite, Bompani, Effegibi, Emilceramica, Fima, Julia Marmi, Lea Ceramiche, Loft Design System, Marazzi Group, Minacciolo, Mirage, Oikos, Ornamenta, Serenissima Cir, The Italian Decking Company, Wall&Decò.
Cer-Sail - Italian Style Concept will include also a rich program of B2B events and meetings with the Italian architects working abroad that will talk about their experience as “ambassadors” of the Italian style around the world.
