Kaldewei enameled steel wins the Green Good Design Award

Thanks to the fine enameled steel of all products - baths, shower trays and washbasins - the German Kaldewei has won the Green Good Design Award 2017 in the category Products.

This is one of the most prestigious international awards for sustainability: it presents to the public the leading manufacturers of sustainable products. The Green Good Design Award is given by the “European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies” and the “Chicago Athenaeum International Museum”. This year, the sustainable products from over 20 countries have been awarded.

Arndt Papenfuß, Kaldewei Marketing Director, commented: “Kaldewei enameled steel is the central element of the brand; it is the result of a constant test and management of our innovative process. Sustainability is essential in Kaldewei's corporate philosophy, for the entire lifecycle of the product - from raw material to production up to 100% recycling, after many years of use”. For this reason, in 2009 Kaldewei was the first bathroom-furnishing manufacturer in Germany to obtain an environmental statement (EPD) for its enameled steel solutions.

Moreover, the German company boasts an in-house enamel production: it takes place in the company's foundries, with the possibility of controlling the whole production process. The thirty-year warranty is the proof of the long lifecycle of Kaldeway bathroom’s solutions. After this period, exceptionally long, products can be fully recycled.
