Made-in-Italy manufacture comes out on top of the 2016 Good Design Award

900 new products coming from more than 46 different countries have been recently awarded with the 2016 Good Design Award, a well-known prize established in 1950 and organised by the Chicago Athenaeum, in partnership with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. Its purpose is to pick every year the most innovative projects in industrial design, which for this edition are going to be officially awarded on the next January 27th.

Among the diverse winners, many products carry the typical made-in-Italy signature. First of the list, we find Naïve Slimtech, a Lea Ceramiche’s collection designed by Patrick Norguet. Naïve’s peculiarity originates from a cutting-edge technology allowing the production of a large slab – 3mx1m size, with just 5,5mm of thickness – characterised by a quasi-three-dimensional surface texture.

Furthermore, we should mention the indoor/outdoor infinity minipool Quadrat Pool, designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba Studio for the Zucchetti brand. Then Kos, a Origami-designed radiator by Alberto Meda for Tubes, inspired by the shape of the iconic partition, and Antrax IT’s Android, a sculptural decorative radiator with high heating efficiency designed by Daniel Libeskind
