Mapei and Vinavil support Burri exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York

Once again Mapei supports the Guggenheim Foundation with a contribution to the retrospective entitled "Alberto Burri: The Trauma of Painting" inaugurated on 9 October and on display until 6 January 2016 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Famed for his unusual work technique, which was a mix of collage and assembly, the artist produced his canvases with the aid of Vinavil adhesive.

A large painting on Santa Maria Novella railway station in Florence bears witness to Burri's use of Vinavil in his work.

For this major project Vinavil has opted to join Mapei and the Group's American subsidiary in supporting the exhibition.

The Group's long-standing collaboration with the Guggenheim Foundation started in 2008, with the restoration of the museum, and continued with the remodelling of Palazzo Venier, which houses the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and other initiatives aimed at conserving our artistic heritage and supporting cultural activities.
