Marmomac 2018: the 53rd focus on lithic sector

Marmomac, the exhibition dedicated to marble, lithic technology and design, returns to Verona for its 53rd edition from September 26 to 29, 2018.

The President of Veronafiere Maurizio Danese and the General Manager Giovanni Mantovani have presented the event yesterday in Milan, with the presence of Luciano Galimberti, president of ADI, the designer Raffaello Galiotto and Fulvio Irace, architect and architecture historian. This is a very important appointment; just think about the figures of 2017: more than 1,600 exhibiting companies, 64% of which were foreign (from 56 countries); almost 68 thousand visitors, 60% from 147 countries.

Marmomac is the main fair of a sector with over 18 billion euro of global exchange; despite its international character, Italian technologies and products hold the second place in terms of exports – with over 3 billion euros – and the first one in quality and added value. This leading role has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development since 2015, with the inclusion of the event in the Extraordinary promotion plan of Made in Italy (“Piano di promozione straordinaria del Made in Italy”).

The business opportunities offered by natural stone are the main object of the exhibition. This year, these have been redefined within more rational and strict products categories: marble, stone, granite, agglomerates and conglomerates, marble blocks, rough stone and large formats, machines and equipment for processing, means of transport and lifting, abrasives, diamond products, chemical products, services.

The planned events include the return of the International Stone Summit, a conference involving the main world marble associations, followed by the pavilion The Italian Stone Theater, whose subject is 2018 Water and Stone, aimed at emphasizing the relationship between water and lytic materials in environments intended for reception and wellness.

Moreover, you can find the new exhibition in which major brands of furniture and design - like Baxter, Swarovski, Luxury Living Group -  create specific projects for marble companies. Moreover, the course schedule promoted by the Marmomac Academy will give space for the training of architects. Finally, there are the two awards: Icon Award selects the project of The Italian Stone Theater that will become the image of the 2019 promotional campaign; the Best Communicator Award rewards the care and originality of the companies exhibiting in the fair.
