Myrtha Pools at Olympic Games 2016

Myrtha Pools, brand of Piscine Castiglione Company will be the supplier of the competition pools of  Rio2016, Olympic Games.

In addition to the installation of the two 50 m Myrtha pools inside the stadium “Estadio Olimpico de Desportos Aquaticos”- where the main swimming competitions and athletes’ warm up will take place- the Company will be also responsible of the management of the plant design for the entire duration of the event.

After Atlanta 1996, Beijing 2008 and London 2012, Myrtha Pools is now at the fourth appointment with the Olympic Games: “The long way (more than 50 years) that made our Company a point of reference for international swimming competitions is also the best guarantee for our private customers because it is a proof of the attention we put in every project, from the smallest and easiest to the biggest and most complicated international projects”- said Roberto Colletto, Myrtha Pools’ CEO.

The made in Italy excellence and the reliability of Myrtha Pools are more and more appreciated in Brazil, where the Company built and is currently  building important projects as the Fortaleza Centro de Formação Olímpica do Nordeste, the Pinheiros Clube in Rio de Janeiro and theCentro Paraolímpico Brasileiro in San Paolo. With its six pools, the one in San Paolo will be the biggest Paralympics Centre all over the world.

Twelve is the number of the Myrtha pools related to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games- among which the 50m pool of the Maria Lenk Aquatics Center, designed for synchronized swimming warm up sessions- and other four pools which are in phase of negotiation. After the Olympic Games, some of the temporary pools will be permanently rebuilt in other structures.

Myrtha Pools is now partner of the CONI Servizi Spa, the operating company of the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee), which purpose is to promote new sports centers and reevaluate existing structures in the perspective of improve and modernize the territory and the social fabric.
