New Active Surfaces® by Iris Ceramica Group website goes live
Iris Ceramica Group has announced the launch of its new website dedicated to Active Surfaces®, the self-cleaning ceramic coverings that offer effective action against bacteria, viruses, pollution and odours, developed by the Group in partnership with the University of Milan’s Department of Chemistry. The website provides a useful tool for understanding more about this innovative material, and features new sections for specific target audiences, from private individuals to trade professionals, as well as case-studies that explain how these eco-active large-format ceramic panels have been applied in practice, and the important certifications awarded to Active Surfaces®.
The re-design of the website forms part of a wider company initiative aimed at drawing attention not only to this specific state-of-the-art technology, but also to the constant, significant Research & Development done by the company in relation to new production methods geared towards human and environmental well-being. This is a forward-looking commitment to improving contemporary urban spaces, which has always been the hallmark of the Iris Ceramica Group philosophy.
Active Surfaces® by Iris Ceramica Group harnesses the photocatalytic properties of titanium dioxide which, when combined with silver, turns a simple material into an eco-active material with antibacterial and antiviral characteristics (also tested against Covid-19), not to mention anti-pollution, anti-odour and self-cleaning action.
When exposed to natural light (but also artificial light, such as from LEDs) and the humidity present in the air, Active Surfaces® is capable of breaking down microbial agents such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould. In the same way, it also neutralises unpleasant smells, counteracts the formation of polluting particles and prevents dirt from sticking, making the rooms it is used in more hygienic and comfortable without any compromise on style.
As the product also contains silver, these four actions remain effective even in the dark. What’s more, Active Surfaces® does not lose its effectiveness over time, but remains effective for the full life-cycle of the surfaces, thus representing an excellent long-term investment.
Active Surfaces® is manufactured in Zero Emissions production facilities, using 40% recycled materials, and is fully recyclable itself.
All in all, the innovative technology of Active Surfaces®, which is patented and 100% Italian, puts into practice the forward-looking vision of Iris Ceramica Group, which has been creating trail-blazing coverings and applications, with a close eye on the future, for over 60 years.
