Saie 2015: great 20th Century architects in "Smart House" advertising

From Alvar Aalto to Le Corbusier, from Lina Bo Bardi to Gio Ponti and Pier Luigi Nervi.

The faces of some of the greatest architects and engineers of the 20th Century are the true protagonists of the new advertising campaign for Saie 2015, to be held in Bologna from 14 to 17 September.

The recently unveiled advertising campaign for the "Smart House", embraces the first architects who developed a new approach to design and construction, by putting people at the centre of their work and thus creating fully fledged "smart houses".

The new campaign was developed on the basis of imagining what would happen if one of these great innovators suddenly came back from the past, into the age of the smart house, and wanted to be updated on the progress made since his or her day and on the various unresolved issues. The concept for the upcoming SAIE will centre on the changes taking place in the world of construction, where building increasingly means creating, with a view to improving quality of life in a sustainable way.

The new paradigm of "aware design and sustainable building for responsible living" will be explored through two complementary focus areas: SAIE Smart House, in 2015, which will focus on the most innovative solutions for the energy upgrading and seismic safety of homes and buildings; and SAIE 2016, which will be dedicated to territorial engineering and the building of major infrastructures.
