Sport will be the theme of the challenge of the Golden Compass ADI International Award 2017, the biennial initiative promoted since 2014 by the Association for Industrial Design, dedicated to an international audience and focused each edition on a specific topic of the design industry.
Recently announced, Sports - Performance and Innovation has been selected as a subject just “because of the commitment in terms of innovation and performance increase that the sport products sector represents”.
In particular, the award acknowledges projects, tools and design excellences for the sport that can improve the conditions in which athletic, sport and physical activity is practiced, helping to ensure comfort, health and wellness of the user.
The competition is aimed at companies and designers who have applied an innovative design to production, taking into account environmental and social sustainability.
There are five categories for the collection of architectural projects, services and products, which will be reviewed by the jury, consisting of seven members selected by the Executive Committee of ADI among qualified national and international figures, to represent, besides design, the complementary skills of each category sector.
Moreover, young talents will be considered: with the the ADI Young Start-Up Award, the Association will spotlight the best project (or thesis) made by university students which, individually or in groups, have developed projects of products, services and visual communication for sports and wellness.
