Householders are always on the look-out for energy saving solutions, and one key step they can take in this direction is to fit windows with high heat-insulation properties. These consist of an appropriate frame and high-quality glass that's capable of protecting against cold, heat and noise, and offering savings of over €150 per year.
This is what prompts the Piedmont-based company Navello to make its windows using glass with high heat-insulating properties, with low-emissivity IGUs consisting of two panes separated by a cavity filled with either dehydrated air or argon.
This solution reduces heat loss from -1,280 kwh to -216 kwh*, resulting in noticeable energy savings: over the course of a heating season, the difference in heat loss (1064 kwh) equates to 164 cubic metres of natural gas, with a value of over €150.
*Heat loss calculated on the basis of an apartment located in Turin with total window area of 20 square metres.
