The winners of the eighth ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award
On the occasion of Cersaie, the prizes of the 8th edition of the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award were awarded, as recognition to enhance the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic and bathroom furnishing sectors.
For the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, during the first few days of the exhibition, a panel of experts consisting of Silvia Stanzani (designer), Oscar G. Colli (co-founder of the magazine Il Bagno oggi e domani), Patrizia Scarzella (architect and journalist) and Valentina Downey (chair of ADI, Emilia Romagna Delegation) appraised the exhibited products and selected those that most successfully combine innovation and design excellence in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors.
The winners of the ceramic tile category were: Mirage with Reflet, a collection designed in collaboration with Andrea Boschetti (“a highly decorative product featuring a multiplicity of mirror effects inspired by an 18th century tradition. Produced using a series of complex processes based on local craftsmanship”); Ceramica Bardelli with Cromia - VOLUME designed by storagemilano (an element with a powerful visual identity in 4 modules with pronounced high and low relief markings that create dynamic volumetric effects. Produced in an eye-catching range of colours”); and Gigacer with the Terra collection designed by the Laboratorio Gigacer (“an innovative earth-inspired material effect. The collection comes in a sophisticated range of natural colours”). A special mention went to Cotto D’Este for Pura designed by the company’s R&D department (“in recognition of the depth of the range created by combining a variety of production technologies to obtain a homogeneous collection of coordinating ceramic bodies, sizes and thicknesses”).
The winners of the bathroom furnishings category were Alpi for the Groove series designed by Odo Fioravanti (“a shower head concept consisting of a variety of shapes with multiple stylistic variations”) and Bertocci for the Guccio collection designed by Roberto Ranzi (“a collection of accessories that revives the exquisite craftsmanship for which the historic Florentine brand is renowned, reusing waste bamboo as an iconic material and transforming the concept of a furnishing accessory into a fashion accessory”).
