The elegant design and the interactive and technological concept of SweetCollection, the customizable wellness packages sp.a_system, an innovative software for the management and the energy saving of the wellness equipment and a major engineering advice for the impressive pool: this is Starpool contribution to the Mandarin Oriental Milan spa, recently awarded in the category Interior Design of the Year at the European Hotel Design Award 2016, the prize bestowed each year on the best European hotels for design and architecture.
The layout of the spaces and the use of the materials of the spa - designed by the architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viele and distributed over an area of 900 square meters- are inspired by the Feng Shui philosophy: wood, fire, earth, metal and water are perfectly integrated into the spaces’ design, creating a harmonious universe of holistic wellness and meditation, shared by all Mandarin Oriental spas.
SweetSpa by Starpool (Cristiano Mino design) is the only wellness product within the exclusive Spa Suite. Already awarded at the Red Dot Design Awards 2012, SweetSpa interprets the philosophy of the Middle East Turkish bath, epitomizing the elegance and purity of a real spa in just 3 square meters, which include steam bath, shower, emotional showers, music kit and customizable sp.a system wellness packages.
Within the two social areas dedicated to wellness, specular and separated for men and women, Starpool designed two complete wellness spaces: two SweetSpa XL stalls made of Calacatta marble (for up to 4 persons), two oak SweetSauna XL, emotional showers and cold reactions for the right sequence of the path Heat - Water - Rest.
Switching on and off and the control of all the equipment of the social areas rely on the Eco Spa Technology, a management software patented by Starpool, which also favors controlled energy distribution, avoiding to exceed the kW needed for the operation, and allowing the 15% of energy savings on the daily cycle of the spa.
The sp.a_engineering division of Starpool was also involved in the engineering advice of the innovative swimming pool equipped with a sophisticated ozone system that can reduce the chlorine in the water.
