Located in Brissago, on the Swiss side of Lake Maggiore, the sumptuous Parkhotel Brenscino immersed in the green of a lush green botanical garden is the cornerstone of a wise renewal of the interior spaces led by the Bernuzzisamoriarchitetti studio.
Behind the new interior design concept, there is a strong appeal to natural elements, which reflects in an eye-catching tropical trendy mood used as central theme of the common areas: the main object of this restyling.
“When we were called to design the restyling of this historic structure, we knew that we needed to create something unique and modern to make completed and revive these old-fashioned and no longer appealing environments. The challenge was quite hard: a limited budget and a short deadline (only three months!) had been asked for the realization. The technical solutions inevitably involved “soft” and fast works, thanks to the use of materials of great aesthetic impact but at the same time adequate to the set goals”, Enrico Bernuzzi and Monica Samori claimed, designers and founders of the homonymous studio, counting on a ten-year experience in the tourist/hotel sector.
The common areas
The restyling of the atrium was carried out with the aim of transmitting to the guests a strong connection with the outside: here, a lush jungle is the backdrop of a new fully restyled reception, characterized by a large and elegant acid brass countertop. The oak wood boiserie, embellished with bas-relief plants decorations, contributes to the creation of a sophisticated and modern setting.
The main restaurant, dominated by a vinyl wallcovering by Glamora with a personalized pattern, leads its guests into the charming atmosphere of the garden by means of windows surfaces.
The materials and the colour palette used for furnishings and accessories (including the iconic chairs “Yard” by Cizeta), with a walnut stained ash texture and the fabric padding that resembles the shades of the wallpaper, create an interesting stylistic combination: the brilliance of the different shades of green contrasts with the warm tones of the walnut parquet and the cocoa walls.
The new buffets are based on drawings: they are externally lined with the black laminate “HPL” by Abet, while for the internal parts they used the oak wood; a total black granite countertop is an additional feature.
In the oldest area of the hotel (dating back to the early 1900s), specifically in the lounge characterized by high coffered ceilings and white granite columns, the new restaurant-pizzeria stands out, basically in its original shape but enhanced with contemporary furnishings. The mix between chairs and armchairs with polypropylene shells and solid ash legs - such as the Babila” by Pedrali, the “Arki-Base” tables with black steel legs and shelves made of Fenix NTM solid black core, also by Pedrali - besides the based on drawings large convivial tables made of solid oak, give life to an informal but refined location.
The new lounge of the Parkhotel Brenscino, which is now even more cozy and bright after its renewal, in a space that seems halfway between interior and exterior, surrounded by a spectacular view on lake and mountains.
The surfaces of the area have a chromatic continuity that aims at emphasizing the landscape. On the other hand, the walls, the cocoa ceiling and the new vinyl flooring with the wood effect “Antique Oak”by Expona design are on purpose eclipsed by the panorama.
