Located around Liverpool Street, the Devonshire Club is one of the most exclusive destinations in London, whose new headquarters occupies six floors of a former warehouse of the 18th century belonging to the East India Company and a large Georgian building, recently renovated for 25 million pounds.
The work on 5.400 square meters - managed by the consulting firm for the creative development of the real estate industry, SUSD, with the collaboration of the interior’ studio March & White - was aimed at the renovation of the prestigious building and the maintenance of the surfaces. The project involved natural materials and fine craftsmanship: this refined research is reflected in the luxurious interior, including the exclusive bars and the elegant relaxation areas covered with materials supplied by Stone & Ceramic and treated with the eco-friendly FILA Green Line by Fila Surface Care Solutions.
The Stone & Ceramics’ team posed the custom-made bars of the main café and of the ‘Barman’s Bar’, walls and floors tiles made of polished granite by The Stone Collection and tiles signed Porcelanosa, all ad hoc cut to get continuity and a strong visual impact.
The natural stone Travertine Silver Wood by L'Antic Colonial (Porcelanosa) and the Kenya Black by The Stone Collection were chosen for the walls and floors of the relaxation areas.
The work of FILA
All surfaces were cleaned and protected with certified treatments for food safety, including the neutral universal cleaner FILACLEANER and the water-based stain-resistant protective product FILAMP90 ECO PLUS, free from hydrocarbon solvents and with a natural effect that protects and makes maintenance easier, reducing the absorption of the material without altering the aesthetic appearance.
More specifically, the first was employed for an effective and safe after installation cleaning and for the routine upkeep, while the stain-resistant product was applied on all over the granite, to provide an excellent protection over the time without altering the extraordinary aesthetics of the elegant surfaces.
«In this prestigious work - Nicola Brunello, FILA Technical Assistance & Training Manager, explains - the stain resistant protective product FILAMP90 ECO PLUS demonstrated its technical and performance features. The need to use an eco-friendly product, the EC1 + certification attesting to the very low VOC emissions and the Food Contact certification required for surfaces in contact with food were all decisive for the choice of this technologically advanced stain-resistant product. No less important is the speed of application and implementation of the protective product that allows to step on the surface after only 4 hours, which is not obvious in the construction site where the time needed for implementation is a critical variable».
